Point Advisory is an integrated sustainability solutions consultancy committed to creating tailored solutions that aim to add value to their clients’ business. A 2nd time honoree for being Best For The World, we speak with Caoillin Murphy, Senior Manager at Point Advisory.
1. What makes your company Best For The World?
Point Advisory’s mission is to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable future for people and the planet. We develop innovative, elegant and effective solutions that help embed sustainability principles into our clients’ strategic planning and operations. To help us achieve a measurable positive difference, not just for our clients, but for society as a whole, we have developed a social impact program.
As part of this program we undertake at least 3 group activities each year, and aim to achieve a volunteer target rate of at least 1% of staff time. Over the past 18 months we have volunteered with some fantastic organisations such as Beach Patrol, OzHarvest, FareShare, the Red Cross, PolishedMan and EatUp.
2. How do you plan to celebrate?
We will definitely raise a toast at our Friday team catch-up!
3. Part of being “Best for the World” is striving to always use your business as a force for good. What initiatives do you have planned for the coming year to continue to be Best for the World?
We plan on developing an impact page for our website to highlight the positive impact we are having, including across both social and environmental areas. We are also going to update our environmental reporting to capture more sources this year, including waste and staff commute.
4. What advice do you have for other B Corps and purpose-led businesses that want to improve their impact?
Ensure that your social impact team has a good mix of decision makers and dreamers. Try and get the whole team involved in choosing projects to get involved in!
